Electropositive Pleated Filters for Lenticular Housings
Monday, February 08, 2010
The high performance pleated filter cartridges are specifically engineered and designed to replace lenticular filters. This pleated filter cartridge has a lower shipping weight per cartridge to help reduce shipping costs. And, since each NCLR holds less water, it eases the process of filter replacement for the operator. Each filter cartridge contains the company’s patented non-woven filter media matrix infused with nanoalumina fibers, creating an electropositively-charged depth filter. The filter is capable of removing small particles (including colloidal iron and TOC’s), bacteria and virus from water at high flow rates, using the principal of electrostatic attraction and adsorption. The filter’s NASA-derived technology has received many awards including the 2005 Hall of Fame award from the Space Foundation. The line of pleated filter cartridges were engineered and designed as drop-in replacements for lenticular filter cartridges. They will fit into most commercially available lenticular housings. Initial bacteria and virus retention greater than 7 LRV and 6 LRV (respectively) are projected for the cartridges. The filter’s technology yields SDI (Silt Density Index) values averaging < 0.5 and turbidity levels < 0.01 NTU when incorporated in a pleated cartridge. The new line also includes optional technology, with the same dimensions but including powdered activated carbon integrated into the media. The result is a filter with many of the same characteristics but with the additional capability to remove halogens as well as most soluble organics. All components in NanoCeram-LR filters are FDA-compliant and appropriate for food contact.
